Do I really need a chimney cap?
If your flue is open at the top, rain and animals can get in. A cap is a small part that prevents a lot of common chimney problems, so we recommend one on almost every chimney.

What is a top-sealing damper?
It is a damper mounted at the top of the flue and opened with a cable from the fireplace. When closed it seals tightly, which keeps out rain and animals as well as stopping drafts.
