Choosing and installing a stove
We look at the room, the floor and walls around where the stove will sit and how it will vent, then help you choose a stove that suits the space. We take care of the permits, install the stove, its hearth protection and its flue to the manufacturer’s requirements, and show you how to run it.
Sweeping and inspection
Stoves and their flues build up creosote like any wood-burning appliance. A yearly sweep and inspection clears the flue and connector pipe and checks the door gasket, baffle and firebrick.
Repairs
We replace worn gaskets and cracked firebrick, fix connector pipe and flue problems, and tell you plainly when a stove is past repairing.

Can a wood stove use my existing chimney?
Often, yes, with a liner sized to the stove. We inspect the chimney first to make sure it is sound.
How often should a wood stove be swept?
At least once a year. If the stove is your main source of heat, it may need it more often.
Why is the glass on my stove turning black?
Usually the wood is too wet or the fire is burning too cool. A worn door gasket can also play a part. We can check the stove and show you how to burn hotter and cleaner.
